NYC Restaurant Week

 

NYC Restaurant Week is back to help you savor some of the city's best restaurants, with menus starting at $25 for lunch, at $38 for dinner, who can resist? NYC Restaurant Week starts July 20th and runs through August 14th, 2015. Please refer below to a link with those restaurants within walking distance to our hotel.

2015 NYC Marathon

 

The New York City Marathon is the world's largest marathon and one of the greatest road races in the world. Stay at the Hyatt Union Square for the NYC Marathon in 2015, and our concierge will be happy to help with transportation to this epic race happening on Sunday, November 1, 2015, with a weeklong celebration happening prior to race day.

 

The Marathon Route

The New York City Marathon kicks off on the Staten Island side of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, then proceeds through Brooklyn and Queens. The race enters Manhattan via the Queens Borough Bridge, up through the Bronx then to the finish line at Central Park.

 

Best New York Marathon Viewing

In Manhattan, the best spot to watch the race is First Avenue and 59th Street as runners race down the turn on the Queens Borough Bridge. Brooklyn features the longest stretch of the Marathon along Fourth Avenue.

 

What to Bring

All bags and items carried by marathons participants, spectators, and partners are subject to inspection. On the day of the event, runners and spectators are allowed to bring plastic bottles of liquid no larger than one liter. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed.

 

Getting to the Marathon from Union Square

Runners that stay at Hyatt Union Square can take the 5 line (green) to Whitehall Terminal from the 14th Street Union Square subway station, a 15 minute ride to the destination. Once you arrive to Whitehall Terminal you can take a scenic ride on the Ferry to the St. George Terminal in Staten Island. They will have buses lined from the St. George Terminal to the Starting Line.  

 

Choosing Your Transport to the Start

Runners will have to log on their NYRR profile to choose transportation to the Start in Staten Island. Transportation is on a first-come, first-served basis and the deadline for selecting transportation to the start is at 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 31, 2015.  Transportation is for race participants only, and spectators are not allowed in the Start Village in Staten Island.
