Our central, downtown Manhattan location makes Hyatt Union Square New York the perfect launching point for all your NYC adventures. Why not start 1 block away at Union Square itself, the cultural epicenter of the city? Filled daily with artists, performers, and chess players, there's tons to see, even if just sitting on a park bench and taking in the sights. Four days a week the park fills with farmers from the Tri-State area for the famous Greenmarket, a favorite spot for the hottest chefs in NYC, full of fresh produce, homemade bread, cheeses, and organic meats.
Top Attractions in Downtown Manhattan
Once you've explored the Digital District around the hotel, grab a MetroCard and take the subway anywhere you want from Union Square. It's one of the city's major transit hubs, offering riders quick access to attractions like the 9/11 Memorial in the Financial District. Be sure to make reservations online before you go though, as it has quickly become one of the most popular sights in the city. South of that is Battery Park, home of the Statue of Liberty Ferry. Again, you’ll need advance reservations, but the view from the southern tip of Manhattan is amazing. If you just want to sail past Lady Liberty, a well-kept NYC secret is the Staten Island Ferry. The ride is free, sailing every 30 minutes, and goes right past the statue. Just be sure to board the right side, and go out on the deck for the best view.
