New York City is a year-round haven for LGBT culture, and June is a very special month to celebrate, as it marks the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village, an event widely considered to be the catalyst in the struggle for equal rights in the United States. In honor of that night and celebration of gay pride, NYC is host to some of the most exciting LGBT events in the world, all culminating with the Pride Parade on June 28th, as over 1 million people take the party to the streets of Manhattan.

The Pride party starts at this concert, comedy, activism mash-up by the water, as the "Princess of Hip-Hop and R&B" Ashanti takes the stage, along with a number of other performers and noteworthy speakers.
